In the NC General Assembly Session Records, Nov.-Dec. 1835, Box 6; NC Archives, Raleigh, NC is found:

A Petition for divorce by Mrs. Elizabeth (Duckworth) Silva of Macon Co., NC. She married in 1828 to David Silva of Macon Co., nC and he ran off to Illinois and left her. She files for a divorce.

I have no interest in this family and only post this as a resource
