I don't know if I am related. I don't know of any close relatives in Hawaii, but there could be a relation back in the Azores. I am trying to place my great grandfather (Jospeh Ernesto Da Silva / Da Santo b. 1870) in the Azores, as his wife (Maria Conceicai Soareas b. 1875) is from Lajes, Pico I believe. One the 1930 Orange Co., FL Federal census shows he was from Portugal and scratched out below it was St. Maguel, which is St. Michael Island of the Azores. I don't know if this is correct or if he was from Pico or another island. I am still trying to find a link with other Silva families. He also used the name "Santo" and around 1910, changed it and moved to FL. I don't know if Santo was his given name at birth or Silva. That is a hard question. Many of these families went to work in Brazil or Hawaii and some came here to the US.

I don't know if this helps.
