I don't think that we have corresponded. This is what I have on Joseph or Jose Silva. Born Feb. 1825 in Western Islands. According to his naturalization papers he last resided in Flores and lived on Maui in Wailuku. Came to Hawaii 1848. 1900 Census has his birthdate in 1832 and coming to Hawaii in 1860. He is listed as Joseph Silves in the 1900 census. He married Emalia Watson in 1878 at Bethel Union Church. I have the marriage entry date. They had 15 children and lived in Kaneohe: Charles, Hattie Doak, Rosie Ohara, Ane Richard, Lilia Lopes, Emilia, George, Edward, Mary Ann Horner, and I don't have the papers with me so can't remember the other children. I have a copy of his will. He died Apr 1908 in Kaneohe. Are you related? Yvonne
