I am trying to trace my Silman family roots. The name was originally spelled SCHILLMANN and I believe has Germanic Roots, albeit I was born in Hungary and very strong Jewish roots.

I would appreciate any help you can give. I have struck out beyond tracing my grandfather back to Baja in Hungary to 1876.

I have found Silmans in Poland, Australia, Peru, Mississipi etc. but have not been able to get back beyond 1876 so I would appreciate any help that I can get.
