My great grandmother was Alice Maude Silbery, daughter of Joseph Silbery and Emily Harriet Jaggs. She was born in New Zealand, but her father was born in Liverpool, Lancs, England, and her mother in London. Joseph came to NZ as a ship's carpenter in the 1860s, looking for his uncle Jim Silbery who ran away to sea, and settled in New Zealand and married a local Maori woman. A brother of Joseph was still living with his parent, Christopher and Julia Silbery in London at the time of the 1881 census. He was James Albert Silbery, "apprentice pianoforte tuner" in 1881. He later became a piano merchant, operating a business under his own name. I have a photograph of him as a child. Julia Silbery's maiden name was McNamara (probably Irish). Christopher was described as a "Master Mariner" (ship's captain). He appeared to have had some connection with a church in Liverpool some time earlier (as a non-clerical church official).
I would be interested in hearing of any connections whatsover.
