Arthur, thank you for expanding on the definition of Sikorski.I believe we're both right.I think Sikor is a place and a bird.A similar example is Wrobleski or" sparrow village".I'm unfamiliar with a titmouse,but I hope its a handsome and noble animal.Good luck on researching Schekorske,it looks like your relative may have been a Pole serving in the Prussian army.Perhaps this spelling was given up when Poland gained independence after world war 1.
