A biography/family history of Victor Siegel is included in "Montana, Its Story and Biography", Vol 2. Victor was born, 10 May 1867, son of Adolph & Minnie (Gunther) Siegel, b. 1834, Dresden, d. 1880, Dresden & b. 1841, Dresden, d. 1877, Dresden. Children: Clara (Mrs. Andreas), Leipsig, GE; Otto, who died age 43, Missoula, MT; Oscar, San Francisco; Victor; Lizzie (Mrs. Charles Heckler), Missoula, MT; Walter, d. in Missoula, MT, 1914; Jennie (Mrs. Albert Nuhshag), Strassburg, France. Victor was educated in Dresden and learned the trade of florist and landscape gardener. In 1890, he came to San Francisco for a short time and in Oct 1890 located to Butte, MT, where he worked in a brewery, a mine, and then for three years as a florist in the employ of Mrs. Jessie Knox, who owned the first greenhouse in the State of Montana. Then Victor homesteaded near Missoula but sold the homestead and went into the ice business in Missoula. In 1899, he became foreman of construction on the Columbia Gardens (located 3 miles east of Butte) and later was made superintendent of the Gardens. In 1896, Missoula, MT, Victor married Miss Helena Leck, who was born near Bremen, Germany. Siegel child: Victor, b. 20 Feb 1910. Victor C. Siegel died, 9 Jan 1949, age 81, Butte, MT Helena Siegel died, 2 Mar 1933, age 62, Silver Bow County, MT I am not related. Notify Administrator about this message?
