John Sydney's will names only daughters who married George Fowler and Thomas Porter, plus some other relations. It doesn't appear that he had any sons. Sydney was a Burgess, justice, and militia colonel in Lower Norfolk County, born in 1613 according to his own deposition. He was evidently married to a sister of Thomas Vicesimus Ivey (or vice-versa), as Sydney's will mentions "Vicesimus Ivey and his daughter Agnes, my cousin".

John Carroway was claimed as an importee by both John Sydney and Christopher Burroughs, neighbors of one another.
