hi michelle, my name is brian sides and most of the sides family were from in and around rector, clay county arkansas. my gggrandfather was hilliard j. sides. i've been told that i am part cherokee,scottish, irish, welch and god knows what else thrown in. sandy castor, who posts here quite a bit is probably the most informative of all. she seems pretty avid. you might ask her about the sides family reunion held last year in texas. she can probably put you in touch with the organizer. i'm pretty sure he probably gleaned a lot of info and history during this event. good luck.
