Hi everyone, I do believe we are all related. My maiden name was Sandra (Sandy) Darlene Sides. I was born in Granite City, Il May 11, 1934. My father was William Erwin Sides, born in Marmaduke. His father was John Albert Sides, and I believe his father was William R. Sides. I remember Uncle Denver very well. He was a sweet uncle. I have many photos if Hilliard and family, and a lot of obits, etc. My father's Uncle Joseph Sides, in Ada OK, they had a family bible that I saw in Oct. 1974. Inside the bible was written R.D. Sides, 1st County treasure of Carson City, Utah Territory, 1852. Our Archivist here in Carson City, NV told me when a name is written inside a family bible, it definately is some relation. We moved to Carson City in Nov 1974. Richard D. aka R.D. Sides came to Nevada in the early 1850's. I am having a hard time connecting to our family. His father was a Leonard Sides, from North Carolina. There were several Leonard's, but in the 1800's census of Nevada, he is listed with his wife the former Christia Lyerly, from Illinois. I may never find the connection, but being the TAURUS that I am I will not give up!!! ha ha SOoo, if anyone out there has any idea about the elusive Richard D. Sides, please let me know. I believe he died at the John D. Winters Ranch, in 1902 or03, in Washoe County. I cannot find a death certicate or where he is buried. In the census he is listed living with Leonard, Chritina, William, son of Leonard and 2 daughters. I think R.D. was also listed as a son. R.d. married a Marinda Burdick who was a Morman, from Union city or co of Il. They were married in Virginia City. NV. THanks for any info you all might have. I still not find that bible of Uncle Joe's in Ada, OK. His children have no idea what happened to it. Ciao, Sandy SIDES Castor Carson City, NV 89705 Notify Administrator about this message?
