Hello All, I have for some time been working on the genealogy of the Green family of Montgomery (and later Stanly) county, North Carolina in the period 1780-1825. Some time last summer I came across a stunning collection of research data on the Sides family, including a great many transactions between Greens and Sides in the years 1799-1822. The information was originally drawn from old census and especially land records, and was apparently assembled into a collection called the "Sides papers." When I visited the webpage, it had the URL http://www.halcyondays.com/Sides/sides_deeds_nc.htm but this site is no longer accessible (at least, not to me!). I am writing in the hope that someone on the list knows something more about how the Sides papers were assembled, and also how I might be able to access the information again. I am particularly interested in learning the whereabouts of the deeds in question, since they appear neither in the (fragmentary) Montgomery County NC deed books, nor in the deed books of neighboring Cabarrus County NC. many thanks, Allison Dussias Notify Administrator about this message?
