Descendants of Peter Sides (Seitz)

I am looking for fellow descendants of Peter Sides (1750 - 1813). As you may or may not know, Peter Sides fought as an officer in the Rev.War (from NC) and then later moved to Tennessee and then Baton Rouge, LA. He had 5 children. I am descended through his son, James and then his daughter, Sarah Susannah Sides who married Lewis Bruce McClendon in MS. I knew about the many McClendons in my ancestry, but I have just recently discoved this connection to Peter Sides. As a Texan, I am especially excited that Peter Sides fought and died in Texas in the cause for Texas Independence. He was about 63 when he went to Texas and died in the Battle of Medina in 1813. This was the bloodiest battle ever fought on Texas soil. Unfortunately, I, like most Texans had never heard of it. There are a number of people in Texas who are trying to rectify that by establishing an annual ceremony at Medina to honor these fallen heoroes. Peter Sides is one of the few that has a name and also the only one of this group who also fought in the Rev.War. The local S.A.R., D.A.R. chapters and various other Texas groups have been instrumental in this effort to honor their memory. The ceremony this year will take place in Medina, about 20 miles south of San Antonio on Sat., Aug. 19, 2006 and 11:00 AM. I will be there for the first time and would like to encourage other interested parties to attend. If you would like more information on Peter Sides, you can visit my website (http://www.geocities.com/mjbell1@flash.net/ ) or contact me for more information about him or the ceremony.
