My GG Grandparents are Elijah Sides and Nancy Hannah Brown. Nancy was Cherokee and daughter of cherokee chief john brown. Elijah was the son of Jonathan Henry Sides IV:
Jonathan IV came to Walker County about 1818 along with his father and brothers. He married Susan Ashcraft on Jan. 4, 1836. They he settled Northwest of Jasper, near Old Zion, Alabama. He was born Jan. 9, 1779 and died Jan. 15, 1867. She was born Jan. 6, 1789 and died Sept. 26, 1874.
Elijah Sides was born Jan. 4, 1825. On Feb. 3, 1843. he was married to Nancy Brown, who was born in Morgan County Feb. 2, 1820, and died in Walker County near Lucky,Alabama, on April 12, 1886. Nancy was the daughter of John and Hanna Brown of Morgan Co.. Elijah Sides died March 28, 1900.
Elijah and Nancy had many children-one of which was a daughter named Mary Sides who is my GGG Grandmother.
Mary Sides married Chandler (C.Y.) Roberts.
