Parents needed for Thomas Shy who appears in Cumberland County, KY as early as 1816 when he purchased land from the estate of Robert Miller. Thomas married Margaret ??? about 1792, possibly in TN as the early children were born in TN. Thomas Shy died about 1842/1843. The children and heirs of Thomas Shy file an indenture and give their inheirited land to their mother, Margarette Shy, Cumberland County, KY June 1843.

Known children are: M. Jane b. 20 Jul 1793 TN; Margaret (Peggy) b. 15 Mar 1795 TN; a daughter that d. after giving birth to daughter Aceineth C. Vincent; McCampbell b. Abt 1806 TN; Guyan Leeper b. Abt 1802; Pleasant P. b. Abt 1810 TN; Assenth b. Abt 1815 KY; Emily b. Dec 1816 KY; Elizabeth b. Abt 1820; William b. 1826 and Samuel Wesley b. 1827.

Thomas' wife Margaret may have been a LEEPER or a McCAMPBELL if the male children's names give off any clues. Does this Thomas Shy fit in with any of the Shy families from VA, NC, or GA????
