I am looking for any males sons of these Shurtleff's that were born to Simeon (f=Jonathan,m=Elizabeth Leach) and Submit Kingman Shurtleff from 1797-1807. I show them as born in Paris, Oxford County, Maine but can't find anything further than that.
I am trying to connect the dots backwards I guess. My grandfather is Wallace Irvin Shurtleff, b:1931 in Rumsford, ME (Florence Irene,only sibling b:1926) to Cecil Brey Shurtleff and Minnie Margarette Hinkley(?). Cecil was an only child b:1906 in Rumsford,ME to Herbert Arthur Shurtleff and Nora Belle Bray. Herbert b:abt 1870, may have at least one brother, both lived in Rumsford, not sure if they were born there. I have no parents or other sibling info for Herbert. Thats where my info stops.
So I am hoping the Simeon Shurtleff's son in Oxford County, ME lead to Herbert Arthur Shurtleff.
Also, my grandfather told me that or lines may go back as far as Dublin, Ireland and that there is a Shurtleff (not sure if spelled that way or not) Family Crest with a castle and moat picture?? Does anyone know anything about this or know of our line beyond William from England?
I would greatly appreciate any info anyone has. I would also like to know if anyone call tell me how to get my hands on the 2 volume book of Shurtleff names. My grandfather was contacted by someone in California once but he cannot remember who and didn't keep the information.
