Shumaker Family Genealogy Forum

Yesterday I was taken to the "lost" Shumaker Cemetery by my 83 year old cousin Waymon Fondren. It is located on private land owned by the Glass Family about a mile off Elijah Graham Road near Noxapater, MS. Although it is very overgrown and some of the stones are illegible, I found Henry and Johnathan Shumaker's stones and a stone for just J.E--from your postining I assume Johnson Edward Fondren. There are about 29 graves there including surnames of Shumaker, Hall, Hatcher, Snow, Gordon, Eubanks, Tisdel, Porter, and Beaman. Waymon says that they are all connected to the Shumakers somehow. If you ever feel like making the trek, I can send you directions or even guide you! It is about a mile's walk off the road through a pasture, some woods, and across a creek.
