Re: Phillips - I have had a couple of crashes so not sure if I previously had more on Phillips. My database shows this info on Isaac Phillips, born 1790, VA and wife, Polly,
born about 1818, NC was from 1860 Hickman County, TN Census.
I searched VA for Phillips family( sons with Bible names)-
nothing on Isaac. I found the will of one James Phillips,
will dated 1782, Sussex Co. VA - He named sons Samuel, Henry, George and a brother, Thomas.
I would guess the Phillips line came from England first to VA, then moved to NC, SC and TN. My research into my mother's Scotch-Irish roots(Protestant Scots who were sent to Belfast after their failed support of Bonnie Prince Charlie, and then emigrated to the colonies)showed a number of them first in VA or NC. They intermarried with German emigrants during this time.
I had assumed Hannah was from Prussian emigrants but also found Shoemaker, Shumaker from Scotland who emigrated to VA.
