Eugene Shuler of Grayslake A memorial service for Eugene Shuler, 73, will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Park, Northlake, Ill. Born Dec. 29, 1933, in Antwerp, Ohio, the son of Rolly and Daisy Lilly Shuler, he died Friday, Sept. 21, 2007, at his son's home. He married Shirley Lovendahl on Oct. 25, 1958, in Chicago. She predeceased him in March of 2002. Eugene was employed by Sara Lee for more than 20 years and retired in 1999 from Shuler Design Technologies. Eugene was a member of the Northwest Model Engineering Club and the MG Car Club. Survivors include his children, Melody (Steve) Black of Las Vegas, Jay (Kathy) Shuler of Prairie View, Ill. and Bryan (Donna) Shuler of Beloit, Wis.; grandchildren, Tessa Shuler, Neil (Sarah) Kessler and Ryan (Lorri) Kessler; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Abigail; sister, Julie (John) Risch of Lanesburg, Mich.; brother-in-law, Roy Lovendahl of Worthington, Ohio; and companion, Victoria Schattka of Grayslake. He was predeceased by his parents; and sisters, Louise Haase and Pam Konopinski. Memorials may be given in his name to Beloit Regional Hospice or a local hospice.
