will of Geo. Shuler (Jr.) NC to GA
I thought some of you might be interested in this. George Shuler Jr. appeared in the 1850 census in Macon Co, NC, then moved his family to Catoosa Co, GA after his mother Polly died. His family appears in the 1860 Census of Catoosa Co, GA as: G. SHULAR, age 78, born MD, K. SHULAR, age 60, born GA, and his grandchildren J. SHULAR age 22, b. NC, and N. SHULAR age 21, b. NC. Two doors away was the family of his son Alfred Shular (Shuler). The will was written 11 July 1859 and probated in Feb. 1862.

George Shuler of State of Georgia, Catoosa County.
...Item 3rd. I give bequeath and devise unto my beloved wife, Kezziah (could be Kizziah) Shuler all my real and personal effects . . . during her natural life and at her death to be disposed of as hereinafter provided to wit to be equally divided between David Shuler, John Shuler, William Shuler, Alfred Shuler, Edmondson Shuler and Eveline Birchfield wife of David Birchfield, all my children and John Shuler and Nancy E (?) Bradshaw both my grandchildren in the manner following
Item 4th. In consideration that John Shuler and Nancy E. Bradshaw my grand children of recent(?) are now living with us and will continue to as so if in the providence of God they are permitten . . .
Item 5th. The legacy left to Eveline Birchfield to be free from the control and management of the said David Birchfield for and during her natural life and at her death to be divided equally between her children and if she should leave no children then to be equally divided between the next of kin.
Item 6th. I give and bequeath unto John Bradshaw, husband of my daughter Ann Shuler formerly, one dollar.
Item 7th. I give and bequeath unto Louisa Shuler widow of Price Shuler deceased formerly Louisa Battle the sum of one dollar.
Item 8th. I give and bequeath unto Mary A. Shuler formerly Mary A. Nations and widow of Humphry Shuler deceased one dollar. It is my desire and intention to disinherit each of the three last mentioned legatees entirely from a participation in my estate except the legacy of one dollar.
Item 9th. I hereby constitute and appoint my two sons David Shuler and John Shuler to carry out this last will and testament as executors of the same.
