Yvonne, I don't have any additional Shufelt ancestors. My husband's line is the Hotchkiss - Edgar Marshall or Marshall Edgar depending on records. Edgar was married to Lillian Pitcher before he married my husband's great-grandmother. I don't think that the Lillian's children knew that their father had remarried (several times) and had two more children.
I'm assuming that Lilly died as the youngest child, Robert, was probably adopted by her brother, Oscar. The below is what I found.
NOTES: "Portrait and Biographical Record of Berrien Co. Michigan" - pages 671-672.
"Mr. Pitcher (Oscar) and his excellent wife have one son, Robert, and the family is one of the most prominent and popular in the township."
**I believe that this Robert is the son of Lillian Pitcher and Edgar M. Hotchkiss and was adopted by Oscar and Isabelle.
My goal was to locate Hotchkiss or Pitcher descendants to verify this information and to also let them know that there are Hotchkiss "cousins" they aren't aware of in California.
Thank you for responding and I'm sorry I can't help you on Alonzo.
