Margaret M. Shuey (Hines) was my GG-Grandmother and was born on 05 Apr 1829 in PA. Her parents were John Shuey and Elizabeth Parker (Shuey). The Shueys were supposedly from were from Holland and Switzerland. She married Adam Hines, 2nd, on 06 April 1846 in Marion Co, OH. She died on 10 December 1901 in White Co. IN, and is buried in Mt. Pleasant aka Ploss Cemetery.
John Shuey, my GGG-Grandfather was born on 02 Apr 1786 in PA. He married Elizabeth Parker. They moved to Harrison Township, Pulaski County. Indiana, in 1838 as one of the original six families in the area. In 1840 of Pulaski County their children included one male under 5 (Jacob Shewey), one male 5-10 (Thomas Shuey?), one female under 5 (later Elizabeth Herrick?). Circa 1836/7 a Thomas and Elizabeth Shew appeared to be heirs to a John Hines' estate. John died on 06 Apr 1871 in Pulaski Co., IN. A Thomas Shuey, ca. 1846, died in 1900 at 54.
Elizabeth Parker (Shuey) was born on 18 Oct 1786 in PA. She died on 18 Feb 1857, probably in Pulaski Co., IN.

In 1850 at Claridon Township, Marion Co., P.O. Caledonia, laborer Richard Shuey (ca. 1814 in OH - ), lived with Lucinda Shuey (ca. 1843 in OH - ), William Shuey (ca. 1845 - ), and Barbara Shuey (ca. 1850 - ). In 1860, June 14, in Claridon Township Marion Co., OH, P.O. Underwood, David Shewey (24 Feb 1801 in PA - 13 Feb 1891) lived with Barbara Shewey, (26 Mar 1804 in OH - 29 July 1862), Michael Shewey (ca. 1835 in OH - ), Jacob J. Shewey (24 Jun 1839 in OH - 09 Dec 1903), twins George and Martha Shewey (ca. 1842 in PA - ), Catherine Shewey (ca. 1831 - ), widow Mary Shewey (Squib) (ca. 1825 - ), Mahala Hines (Squib) and Albert Squib (ca. 1849 - ). On 17 Nov 1850 Michael Shuey married Marie Himman in Cass Co., IN. Jacob Shewey witnessed Adam Hines 1st's mark; Jacob lived with David Hines, his son. Jacob J. Shewey married Sarah Miller (24 Apr 1844 - 12 Feb 1919), childless by 1880; they were buried at Salem Cemetery in Marion Co., Claridon Township Sarah's father was born in England, her mother in VA. In 1870, April 04, same location except P.O. Caledonia, David Shewy (69), "shough maker", was living with Catherine Shewy (39), Mahala Hines (Squib), and Albert Squib, farm laborer. In Jasper Co., IN, John Shuey (ca. 1835 in IN - ) was living with Seniewiha Shuey (ca. 1847 in IN - ), Francis E. Shuey (ca. 1865 - ), and Rose A. Shuey (ca. 1867 - ). In 1880, June 22, same location, widower David Shewey (79) was living next door to his son George Shewey with Albert Squibb and Catherine Squibb (ca. 1839 - ). David and Barbara Shewey are buried in Underwood Cemetery.
