Shropshires with GA Roots...

My roots go back to JOHN WALTER SHROPSHIRE,(B)1817, in Oglethorpe County, GA..

(M) Anne Brown.

Had 11 children:

Matilda,James,*JOHN THOMAS SHROPSHIRE*,Joshua,
Mary Anna,S.Terrell,Alice, Mollie, who died single,
Frank B.,Edward Douglas and William Franklin.

I have a family portrait of my GG/F,*JOHN THOMAS SHROPSHIRE,
(B) 1847 at Cuthbert, Randolph County, GA..JTS is buried at Weatherford, Parker County, TX., alongside SMS.

JTS (M) Sarah (Sally) Mildred Salmon.

Also had 11 children:

John Henry,Rose Z.,Alice, Paul,*Walter, William Franklin,
Fredrick Brown,Ben Hill,Annie Lou,Ruth Lena, and
Eva Mildred.

It looks like all of them were born in Chattooga County, GA.

If any of those named above are related, I would be most pleased to hear from you.

For some reason, it has been most difficult to locate my
maternal grand father's kin (*WALTER THOMAS SHROPSHIRE*,
(B) 5 Jan 1870, Chattooga County, GA.)

Papa (WTS) was also from a family of 11:

John Henry,Rose,*Walter*,Alice,Paul,William Franklin,Fredrick Brown,Ben Hill,Annie Lou and Eva Mildred.

Again, I would be most pleased to hear from my distant relations, and will provide a copy of the JTS portrit,if desired, without charge, of course.

Someone back there will recall our family trip to Rome around 1930. My G/M,Callie,mother, Vivian, and aunt, Eva Mae.

I was a towhead, about 4 1/2, and brother, Jack, blackheaded, about 6 1/2.

I have group pictures, which include several other children from that area.

Do you remember??

Louie F. Turner,
Fort Worth, TX.
