Hello again, Dorothy Grigsby, and Happy New Year to you and yours !
Thank you for your nice response.
I tried to get back to you yesterday via the forum, but for whatever reason, was not able to post to you.
Since it was early New Year's Day, I suppose the lines were swamped or something.
As promised, I reviewed my 22 page printout of the SHROPSHIRE clan, and did not find a single SEAB listed, and I also have checked the 1860 & 70 census reports (the one or two pages I had previously copied a long, long time ago).
From your initial posting, I have assumed that SEAB was a black man, and have ended up confused by your reference to "not knowing the names of any of his slaves" in your subsequent post, which leads me now to assume that he was in fact a white man.
Blacks didn't/wouldn't have had slaves, would they ?
I'm still trying.
LFT.
