Hi, Janie,
I am not sure if John Shroades is George W. Shroades's brother or not.
Incidently, even among the family members, in obituaries, and on the tompbstones, the name has been spelled Shroads,Shroades, and Shrodes.
Do you live in Ohio? If so, the North Cemetery on Route 72 in Cedarville has meany Shroades tombstones. Many of my relatives are buried there. I am sure yours are ,too.
George W. came from Berekeley, as did several other Shroades living in Cedarville in the 1800s. The younger ones also visited relatives in Virgina. I have a few bits of correspondence and journal entries that gave me some of my information.
There were several George Shroades. My George W.had a son George W. born in 1839. He also had a son David and daughters Mary Jane Shroades and Nancy Shroades (my great grandmother) and several other children.
do you have any mre information about John Shroades. That might help us try to connect the two men.
Good to hear from you.
Alma
