Adam Shriver WV to TX

New people are coming online all the time so I would like to
bring up Adam Shriver again, born in WV 1838?, married a
Mary Hays from IN in MS in 1867. I have the death certificate of Frank Hays Shriver that said his mother was
Elizabeth from MS. It doesn't give her last name. Records indicate his mother's name was Mary Hays from IN. I would like to know how they managed to get married in MS. It doesn't seem to me that people would let a young girl go off from IN in those days without being married first. Or did the entire Hays family move to MS? I am being told also that Adam and his brother, William fought for the south in the Civil was, while his father James and son Presley fought for the north. One son, James stayed on the farm in WV presumably. Does anyone know for sure if James was the father of these 4 men? Were there other children? What was the name of Adam's mother? Was Adam only married once? I have met some really nice people while researching this family. Hope they don't mind if I try to verify some of the information. Thanks.
