Thank you SO much for your response. I am interested in anything along this line you can help me with. I know my ancestors had the surname SHREVE. They lived "on the edge of the wilderness" (according to an old family letter, and whatever that means). My ancestor whose name was unknown, was a Shreve. He had 9 daughters, one of whom (Mary) married a Jonathan Cawthra. The same letter states that the area they lived at was at one time name Shreveport after the family, but that it has since been incorporated into a larger city. As my only information is an old family letter, anything you can tell me is appreciated. You can e-mail me directly at shaumat@shaw.ca Denise. Again, thanks so much. I'm at a real dead end.
