Richard, were by any chance Moses, James, and Samuel Shreves listed as grandchildren of Caleb Shreve and Hannah Thorn in the book? I'm trying to trace Humphrey Thomas who left a will dated 1771 in Loudoun Co., VA:

Loudoun Co., VA
Humphrey Thomas w.d. 1 Feb 1771, Apr 1771. Names cousins Moses Shreve, James Shreve, Samuel Shreve.
Wit: William Russell, Israel Thompson, p. 297
Exrs: Moses Shreve and Israel Thompson

I suspect this Humphrey Thomas was somehow related to the famous Baptist minister David Thomas who preached for many years in northern Virginia before moving to Kentucky in 1796. He died there in 1816 in Jessamine Co., KY. His wife was Catherine (Martin) Shreve, the widow of William Shreve II (whom she had married in Loudoun Co., VA).

I'd very much appreciate any help you could give me. Thanks, Bev
