1765 Showalter document, Pennsylvania
Hello,
I am researching the Schneider/Snyder families of Philadelphia county, PA.In the administration package of Henrich Schneider, who died in Sept. 1765 in Springfield, Philadelphia Co. (now Montgomery Co.) is a one page handwritten Showalder document written in old German.I have had this document transcribed and it says the following (Note:In old German, females added "in" to the end of the surname):
Date February 18, 1765
After I, Anna Drisslerin, having been [driven away?] by my husband, Abraham Drissel, and living with my father, learned that he was buried on the 12th of this month without my being invited to the funeral — I was told of it later by good friends — on the above date therefore request that … provider(s) as orphans’ father might indeed grant my request and grant these two men, namely Johannes Schowalter and Henrich Funk, power of attorney over me and my three orphans and the entire [estate?]. I would trust them from my heart in the hope that they will deal with it honestly, for I still have a child one month old and cannot come myself. This I sign as a message and request in the presence of
Jacob I Beer andDanyelhl Schowalder
Signed by Anna Trislerin

I have uploaded a copy of the handwritten document if you'd like to see it:

Jacob Showalter's transcription of his will:
Name: George Graff
Description: Witness
Date: 7 Mar 1767
Prove Date: 28 Apr 1773
BookPage: P:400
Remarks: Jacob Showalter. Whitehall. Northampton Co. 7 March 1767. 28 April 1773. Wife. Children: Valentine, Peter, Ann Trisler, Joseph. Son in law: Henry Funk. Execs.: Joseph Showalter, Henry Funk. Overseer: John Showalter. P:400.
Now my question is, was there a connection between Anna Trisler/Drissler and the Henry Schneider/Snyder family??Why would Anna's statement be filed in Henry Schneider's administration package in Philly?Anna was obviously the daughter of your emigrant Jacob Schowalter. And the George Graff as witness on Jacob Showalter's will, Henry Schneider's daughter Anna Elizabeth married John Graff, FYI.
Going through your Showalter Genforum messages, I also found the following two various entries:
<<“The old cemetery in Cementon where Jacob Showalter Sr. the progenitor lies buried was conveyed March 10, 1770 by David Chambers to Joseph Showalter, Henry Funk, Peter Fried, and Jacob Baer in trust and for the Mennonite congregation of Whitehall and Allen Twnshps.”(My note:Same names as in Anna's statement, Showalter & Funk & Baer/Beer)>>
<<11. Martha Ann Showalter was born about 1746, and died near Broadway, Rockingham County, Va. She was twice-married: (1) John Tressler and (2) Joseph Trissel. Four children were born to the second union: Joseph Trissel (1786-1867), Peter Trissel, Abraham Trissel and Jacob Trissel.(My note:Anna's statement shows her Trissler/Drissler husband's name was Abraham, not Joseph or John, and you can see that she had 3 children prior to 1765)>>
Thanks in advance for any leads or direction.I really would like to untangle this web and discover the Schneider/Showalter 1765 connection~By the way, Heinrich Schneider immigrated to Philadelphia prior to 1728, which is the first entry we find for him (owning 50 acres and on tax roll).
