Hi Kyle
My name is Ron Abbott and would like to know if you are related to this Samual Shortridge that you posted a reply to,or do you know any of the others that replied in the forum looking for Samual. If you are then I have some great news for you, we just found his tombstone along with members of his family and that of Samual Black's family. The date on Samual Shortridge's tombstone was very clear he died in 1823 and was 67 years old, which matches your date. And from his will he did have a son Samual Boone Shortridge. The tombstone was cracked in half but is in fine shape along with the others stones, only one stone was damage so bad we couldn't make it out. According to the records here Samual Shortridge fought with Daniel Boone under the command of George Washington. Email me if you think you are related to this Shortridge we would like as much information on him as we can get. This Cemetery was under about a foot or so of dirt and the Township is taking it over and has donated 5,000's dollars to have the stones repaired and for a fence and clean up. They are not done probing the site for other stones and don't want anyone around the site until it's been recorded. So email me at rabbott5@gte.net if you or others are interested. Ron Abbott
