Henson A. Shorter was the son of Robert Jr. Robert Jr. was a brother to my James B. Shorter. There were several brothers who went to that part of Indiana, but most of them moved over into Illinois. When Henson's parents died, a great aunt assumed custody of him. This branch of the Shorter's left Charlotte County, Virginia and moved to Tennessee (Hawkins County). Then to Indiana. James B. and another brother then went to Clark Co. Illinois. I visited a descendant of Henson Shorter years ago who lived out in West Texas. I believe that his name was Gale Shorter. He farmed out there and had two daughters. John Shorter, the first in the line, married Kindness. They had five sons and one daughter. I have much more on these families - too much for the computer.
