Hi Angela,

As Trish showed, Ben Short was a son of George Washington Short, who was a brother of my great great grandfather Franklin Short. Many of Ben Short's family are buried at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur in Wise County, Texas.

The Wise County site at TXGenWeb has a lot of info on the family, including marriages, death certificates, photos of headstones, etc. There is even a photo of George Washington Short. It will keep you tied up for hours.

The Wise County Museum in Decatur has a lot of info as well, including a copy of George Short's business card. He was one of the first in this area to breed short-horned Hereford cattle.

My gang of Shorts are buried at the Basin Springs Cemetery in Grayson County, Texas. See the Grayson Co site at TXGenWeb.
