Whenever a HAINES/HANES/HAYNES is added to any family you will find noticeable gaps appear in the information that should be available. The fact that two Miles Shorey Haynes exist and an unidentified HAINES is married to a Elizabeth Clarinda SHOREY most definitely points to a direct relationship. The father/grandfather of the two Miles Shorey Haynes was Andrew Haines of Lincoln County, Ontario and he was married to Eliza Williams at Whitby before going to Lambton County by 1861 and Grey County by 1871. One uncle to Andrew Haines was Philip Haines SUE born in the United States. He was granted land in Haldimand County but I have never found him on any census record. Taking into account the fact that all of this family moved around the province according to almost every census record then it wouldn't be too much of a stretch for Philip Haines to be the husband of Elizabeth Clarinda Shorey. He would have been a fair bit older than her but that seems to be another HAINES trait. The males routinely married for the first time in their forties and even after. Like I said it's a stretch but it's the first plausible idea that's come forward for Philip Haines.
