Shorey's from the UK?

I don't think I can help, more likely add to the confusion. Shoreys seem to be very difficult to research. My husband's grandfather was Frederick John Joseph Shorey born about 1905. My husband thinks he was one of four brothers. We know one of his brothers was Frank Arthur Shorey, born about 1899 (their wives were sisters) and on Frank's marriage certificate their father's name is given as Frank Horace Shorey. The only Frank Horace Shorey I can find anywhere is on the LDS site, born 1876 in Roorkee, India. This may explain why I cannot find any record of Fred or Frank Jr's births. The only other clue I have is that on Fred's marriage certificate one of the witnesses is Arthur Shorey - although this may just mean that Frank Jr was known as Arthur. The sisters who married the Shorey brothers were Alice Rose Stedman (known as Rose) and Florence Emily Stedmand (known as Fay). Fred and Fay had just one daughter, Jean. If this ties up with your Henry and Albert at all, or if you know anything about this lot, I'd love to hear from you. Fred lived in Croydon and my husband has the feeling that he heard that there was a connection with the Gillingham area.
