Shorey/Gray/Johnson, Maine 1800's

Joseph Gray and Content Johnson were married 27 September 1798 at North Yarmouth, Cumberland County, Maine. They had at least one daughter, Sophronia Gray, born 8 June 1799 at North Yarmouth. She married Joseph Shorey 2 January 1824 at Monmouth, Kennebec County, Maine.

Joseph Gray was born 3 October 1770 at North Yarmouth to Joseph Gray (son of Andrew Gray and Phebe Chandler) and Mary Loring (daughter of Nicholas Loring and Mary Richmond).

Who were the parents of Content Johnson? Were they Joshua Johnson (son of Joseph Johnson and Mary Ring) and Esther Fogg (daughter of Benoni Fogg and Esther Parker)? Or was her father one of the brothers of Joshua Johnson (that would be Andrew or Nathan or Joseph or Hobart)? Or another Johnson in the area? There is no birth record for this Content Johnson in the North Yarmouth records. But among the children of Joseph Johnson and Mary Ring is a Content Johnson who might be her aunt.

I would appreciate any assistance in finding Content Johnson who is my husband's great-great grandmother. Many thanks for any assistance provided.

Elizabeth Tilton
