Sandy Schreurs was born on January 21, 1939, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Roy and Esther Schaffran Shore. She grew up in St. Louis Park. Minnesota and graduated from St. Louis Park High School in 1957. Following high school Sandy worked at J. C Penney’s in Minneapolis. On July 29, 1961, she and William Taylor were married in Minneapolis. In 1964 they moved to Slayton, Minnesota and raised their four children. Bill passed away on July 7, 1978. On June 20, 1980, she and Robert Schreurs were married in Slayton. Following their marriage they made their home in Slayton. Sandy passed away on August 11, 2007, at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 68. She was a member of St. Ann’s Church in Slayton. Sandy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, reading, sewing, being outside, time at the lake, and watching wild life. She especially enjoyed coffee time with the girls.

Survivors include her husband Bob Schreurs, Slayton, MN; four children and their spouse: Kevin and Roxie Taylor, Coon Rapids, MN; Pat and Pam Taylor, Burnsville, MN; Katie and Brian Harmsen, Slayton, MN; and Jane and Tom Peterson, Orlando, FL; two step-children and their spouses: Todd and Kelly Schreurs, Maple Grove, MN; and Lisa and Roger Opdahl, Fulda, MN; six grandchildren: Kelsey Taylor, Alicia Taylor, Nick Harmsen, Isaac Harmsen, Emily Peterson, and Zachary Peterson; eleven step-grandchildren: Eric Schreurs, Ben Schreurs, Matt Schreurs, Sarah Opdahl, and Tyler Opdahl, Mark Henthone, Missy Larson, Danny Saukkola, Tammy Saukkola, Bill Saukkola, Aaron White; five step-great-grandchildren: Marco Henthone, Parker Larson, Nicole Saukkola, Taylor Saukkola, Colton Saukkola. She was preceded in death by her parents and first husband Bill Taylor.

Funeral services wee held at St. Ann’s Church Slayton, MN on Tuesday, August 14, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. with Fr. Patrick Arens officiating. The organist was Judy Andrews. The song leader was Sheila Crowley. The honorary pallbearers were her grandchildren and step-grandchildren. Interment at St. Ann’s Cemetery, Slayton, MN.Totzke Funeral Home of Slayton in charge of arrangements. Sign guestbook and send condolences online a totzkefuneralhome.com.
