Mary Dollarhide who married John Shope was a daughter of William and Mary Dollarhide. Although her given name was Mary, she was usually called Polly, as so many girls named Mary were at that time and place. William Dollarhide was born about 1765 in NC and died about 1801 in Washington Co., OH. There was an interesting newspaper article about the family in the Ironton Register, 1 Feb 1872.
