Hi Shook Forum members!! I have the following:
1. Alexander Shook born about 1798 in N.C. (see 1850 Chickasaw Co, MS) or S.C.;
2. His son Saul Solomon Shook of Calhoun County, Mississippi was born in AL in 1843. Legend was he served in Civil War.
3. Saul's son Alexander was born in Calhoun Co, MS in 3 Nov 1860
4. Alexander's Daughter, Lera Jane TEdder, my mother's mother, was born in 1889 in Calhoun Co., MS and moved with her faher and mother to Calhoun Co, AR in the 1890s.
I would like to know if any Shook males from this family have done a yDNA study? I would also like to know which states Saul lived before MS and why he came to MS.
Answers to ANY of these questions as soon as possible would be appreciated so we can select a Shook member to participate in a yDNA cheek cell test to establish the family profile for this line as well as have at least a skeletal outline of the paper genealogy.
