John Shoffner - Standard Hosiery Mills - Alamance County, North Carolina

Does anyone know who the John Shoffner is that started Standard Hosiery Mills in 1926 in the location of Alamance Cotton Mills (Edwin Holt's comopany). It is also my understanding that he "bought" the village of Alamance in 1927.
