Hi James,
Henry Shock, of Germany, emigrated to America with his parents at a very young age, and settled first in Pennsylvania from Whence he removed to Greenbriar County,Virginia. He married and had some of his children in this county.Later he moved to a place called Twistville in what is now Braxton Co., WV.It was called Nicholas Co. at that time.
Most of my information was obtained from a relative who was doing very detailed research .This is a quote from information that she obtained but I can not tell you where.Henry's wife was Sarah Elizabeth Holtzapfel. Some of the family started using many different spellings of this name. They did have a son Jacob, plus 6 other children. I have 12 children listed for Jacob.Any information I have found on Henry's family stops with him and I have not been able to find his parents....Sarah E. has three generations beyond her in my file. You can email me if you are interested in any of that information.I have not done the research so am depending on others having the correct information.Belva
