Dear Tom, I have 2 Jacobs, father and son. Jacob the elder, born 1781, died 1832. He was married to Catherine. Jacob the son, born 1816, died 1872, married to Mary Wall. It's really confusing as some records give Jacob the elder the last name of Swoope and others as Shoaf. (I've spent hours making sure it was the same man). Albert was the son of the younger Jacob.AS your John died in 1873 and mine in 1872 (and records are notoriously hard to read at times, couldn't they be the same?
