Mr. Ruby, You seem to have a great deal of info on the Shoaf family. I was wondering if you have any information on Jacob Shoaf and Catherine Cameron Shoaf. They would be my great (5 greats) grandparents. Specifically - I have been doing research on Ancestry.com and there would seem to be some confusion as to name. Jacob Shoaf is also listed as Jacob Swoope and the same data as far as family relations is listed under both names. Jacob Swoope, as far as I can see was a US Rep from Va. They would seem NOT to be one and the same. Can you clear this up? Also, do you have any more info on Catherine Cameron other than she was from the highlands of Scotland and born between 1767 & 1793, married Jacob Shoaf/Swoope between 1795 & 1830 and died between 1817 & 1880. Any info would really be appreciated. As for Peter Shoaf, Jacob's father. He married 2 sisters. Catherine and Anna Elisabeth (often just listed as Elisabeth) Mincks. Right at this moment I can't remember which sister he married first but when she passed, her father suggested that he marry the other sister, which he proceeded to do. As far as I know, Adam was the son of the second wife. Hope that helps. I am related through Albert Shoaf, whose daughter Adeline was my great-great grandmother. If anyone has any Shoaf pictures through that line, I would be very interested. Thanks, Mena
