Ayres BRYAN -- Doris Eloise Ayres, 81, of Bryan, and formerly of Findlay, died at 4:35 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, 2000 at Harborside Nursing Home, Bryan. She was born July 20, 1919 in Findlay to Clarence E. and Belle L. (Harvitt) Shively. She married Roger W. Ayres on Dec. 26, 1937, and he died Feb. 17, 1970. Surviving are a son, Lyle Lee of Gilbert, Ariz.; three daughters, Mrs. Norman (Patricia) Balbontin, Bryan; Mrs. Larry (Martha) Hartman and Mrs. Tom (Mary) Whitman, both of Edgerton; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Shively, Findlay; and a stepsister, Betty Anderson, North Wood. She was preceded in death by a son, Roger Jr.; an infant brother, Donald Jack Shively; and two stepbrothers, Harold and Donald Punches. Mrs. Ayres was retired from Hayes-Albion Co., Bryan. She was a past member of Women of the Moose and a past board member of Quadco Labor Council. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wesley United Methodist Church, Bryan, with Donna Stutzman officiating. Burial will be private in Maple Grove cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Williams County. Arrangements are being handled by Coldren-Crates Funeral Home. Notify Administrator about this message?
