I taught school at Butler High School at one time and I made several visits to Parkview Methodist Church. I was told that they had a lot of old records. That some had received water damage and that I could not view them at that time (this was in the early 1980's). I tried to get records from the old Shively newspaper (Shively Newsweek) but was told that they were no longer available I have spent many hours at the Louisville Free Public Library (downtown) searching records and newspapers and I have found a lot of information but none on Christian's background (where he came from). There was a lady who lived in Valley Station who said that she had written notes on oral history that she had collected but she would never share these notes. She had something to do with the Valley Station Women's Club. You see Camp family once own all the land and more that became the Houchen farm. Some of the Camps are buried on that ground. I got tired of genealogy because people always wanted to rehash information I had already found and verified as either right or wrong. I think that every thing about Christian after he entered Jefferson County can be found. What needs to be searched and verified is where he came from before entering Jefferson County.
