I just wanted to let anyone who checks the Descendants of Durs Schaeublin web site about problems the Yahoo!geocities has created. "Congratulations, http://www.geocities.com/spudnet.geo seems to be very popular and has been receiving a large amount of traffic. Our records indicate that you're using more than the allotted amount of data transfer we provide for a free web site, which is 3 gigabytes per month (measured on an hourly basis). That means that during the past few days we had to temporarily turn your site off to keep the bandwidth within this limit." If you were trying to look for something at the site and couldn't find it, there's the reason why. I guess they weren't getting enough money. They offered me a change to up my bandwidth by charging me money. The kicker: they will turn off the advertising (I think that's the sucker of bandwidth). I don't want to close down the site as it is. But I can't really afford to pay right now. So I'll just have to live with the problems. I'll probably move my personal site to pacbell.net where I have 2 MB of space, but leave the genealogy at geocities. Please bear with the problems geocities has imposed. It will probably be a problem mostly at the end of each month. Marilyn
