Dan, I may have posted a messaage to you in another message board, but in case I didn't, here goes. I live in Bourbon and would go to the historical society and do some searching for you, if that would help. The church I attend, was the home church for a Jacob Shively, He lost many of his children in a short period of time to illness. He also founded a college here in the 1870's. It failed financially and Jacob spent the rest of his life paying off the debt. There are a number of Shively's still living in this area. They are connected to people doing research and have volumes of people they are related to. I personally have a ggg-grandfather who was a Shively and only today after a 22 year search (thank heavens for the internet) brought him into the Durs Schaublin (Shively family). Some of are convinced that all US Shivelys are connected.
