This Christian was the son of Uhlie and Elisabeth (Thommen) Shively. He was born in Hagerstown, Washington County, Maryland and moved to Montgomery County (near Dayton) OH. where he died in 1822. His brother, Isaac D. Shively, b. Dec 29,1759, married Elizabeth Bossler. By 1790, they moved to Bedford Cty, PA into Elk Lick Twp and had nine children. Your Christian had 4 known siblings. Reference: November 1995 SHIVELY NEWSLETTER pages 4 & 5, submitted by Myrtle Gibson. George W. Andrews does an excellent treatment of this line in "SCHAUBLIN and THOMMEN EMIGRANTS from the Canton of Basel, Switzerland. Copies of this work and complete volumes to date of the SHIVELY NEWSLETTER are available. Let me know if your interested. Also, you might consider subscribing to the SHIVELY NEWSLETTER, let me know and I'll give you details.
