James Sonday m. Zoe Shirley 1936 Where in Indiana?

  of 2156

James William SONDAY and Zoe Elizabeth (SHIRLEY) his wife lived all of their married lives in Indianapolis, Indiana. Zoe was born 4 March 1917 in Franklin Twp., Marion County, IN, the daughter of Archer Clyde Shirley and Blanche Gardner. They lived on East Hanna Avenue. James Sonday was born in Dunkirk, Jay County, IN and is shown in the 1920 census living with his father William C. Sonday at 607 South Main St. James is then shown in the 1930 census living in Indianapolis with his father.

Where were James and Zoe married? The marriage date of 14 December 1936 is posted on by a user but the user only lists Indiana as the location. The poster will not respond to emails. James and Zoe are not listed in the marriage records of Marion or Jay County.

James and Zoe attended Bellaire Methodist Church in Indianapolis. Zoe died in Indianapolis on 1 November 1966 and is buried in Orchard Hill Cemetery in Wanamaker. Jim remarried and moved to Ninevah, Indiana when he retired. He died there and is buried in Portland, Indiana.

Any ideas about their marriage location? I have checked the following:

Marion County, IN
Henry County, IN
Jay County, IN
Jasper County, IN
Morgan County, IN
Decatur County, IN
Boone County, IN
Tippecanoe County, IN
Hamilton County, IN
Warrick County, IN
Batholomew County, IN
Montgomery County, IN
St. Joseph County, IN
Vanderburgh County, IN
Vigo County, IN
Lake County, IN
Whitley County, IN
Berrien County, MI
Hamilton County, OH
Wayne County, MI
and the state of Arizona

Thanks for your help,
Kent Shirley
Miamisburg, Ohio
