Vicki,
Bertha Irene Shirk, along with her parents: Louis Earl Shirk and Pearl May Sellers Shirk, are in my database. They are distantly related to my husband's family. A fellow genealogy buddy that I email often is much more closely related to this family. However, she knows little more about Louis & Pearl than I do. She believes that Louis divorced Pearl and that Pearl later remarried to a man named John Banks. She knows little about their daughter Bertha but believes that she married a man with the last name of Feist and that she died in St. Louis, Missouri in 1967. The name Clyde Colvin doesn't match with anything I have. Could you give me some more information to go by, such as what information you have on Bertha & Clyde that you think is correct so we can figure out if we are looking at the same family? If this IS your friend's family, I have quite a bit of Shirk family history for her.
