Earl Shirk and Mary Delosh/early 1900s/Iowa

Earl SHIRK is listed with the James DELOSH family in the 1900 Kossuth Co, Iowa Census -- working as a farm laborer.
He married their dau. Mary Delosh abt. 1906. (Children: Don Louis and Ray W.)

I have been unable to find Earl listed with parents in 1880. He says he is 21 yrs old in 1900 and born in Iowa. In the 1920 census (Lyman Co. SD) he says his father was born in PA and mother in OH.

Does anyone researching the Shirk surname have an Earl born in Iowa abt 1879/1880?
