My great great grandfather's name was John Dalton Shipp, born in Paulding Co. GA in 1865. His father was Joseph Richard Shipp born May 1, 1830, died March 18, 1901, in Paulding Co. Ga., and his mother was Susannah Susan Duke, born Dec. 14, 1830, and died on June 25, 1910. They are buried in the Poplar Springs Cemetery in Hiram, GA. Can anyone tell me if this is the same Joseph Richard Shipp that enlisted March 8, 1862 in Company D. 1st. Regiment,CSA and was a private? I read this on a post from Robert Shipp, and give him credit. He mentioned a Joseph W. Shipp, and in Nevada County, AR Probate records there is a letter to my gg grandmother Bettie Shipp from him concerning Susan's estate. I think these are the same people, but want to be absolutely sure.
